Lowcountry Ecological Projects
Lowcountry Ecological LLC is dedicated to conserving the wild places and wildlife of South Carolina’s ecologically rich Lowcountry, while supporting the people who call this region home. To that end, we coordinate and partner with a range of organizations to build monitoring, research, and restoration projects that enhance and protect wildlife and wild areas. Below are projects that Lowcountry Ecological LLC is proud to be part of, many of them made possible by valued partner organizations. Beaufort Terrapin Project
The Beaufort Terrapin Project, launched in 2024, uses mark–recapture and road mortality surveys to monitor populations near St. Helena Island and assess human-related impacts. Supported by multiple regional partners, the project aims to generate baseline data to guide long-term conservation and management of this high-priority species.
